Unity Week 2006

UD aims to put UNITY in COMMUNITY.

Monday, Jan. 16: University of Dayton students will participate in the Martin Luther King Jr. march from the Montgomery County Fairgrounds to downtown at 10:45 a.m.

Tuesday, Jan. 17: The 19th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Prayer Breakfast, featuring columnist Clarence Page, will be held at 7:30 a.m. in the Kennedy Union ballroom. The breakfast is sold out. DramaTeach, through real-life situations and audience participation, will provide information on celebrating cultural diversity at 7 p.m. in the McGinnis Center Main Meeting Room. The DramaTeach exhibition is free and open to the public.

Wednesday, Jan. 18: Students will gather for an alcohol-free tailgate party in front of Gosiger Hall before UD's men's basketball game with Temple at 7 p.m. Students are asked to wear gold ribbons to the game in honor of Unity Week.

Thursday, Jan. 19: Students and faculty will hold a panel and town hall discussion about UD's campus diversity from 7-9 p.m. in the Kennedy Union ballroom.

Saturday, Jan. 21: UD students will perform community service throughout Dayton. For details, call Jessica Jenkins or Erin Meyer at (937) 229-4444.

Sunday, Jan. 22: Unity Week closes with a candlelight vigil at 6 p.m. in Humanities Plaza. It is free and open to the public.
