Law Library Finds Its Voice

Zimmerman Law Library unveils blog to find and collect news stories, court decisions or other legal information and offer research tips for anyone interested in social justice issues.

The UD School of Law's Zimmerman Law Library unveiled the Vox Bibliothecae — the voice of the library — blog to find and collect news stories, court decisions or other legal information and offer research tips for anyone interested in social justice issues.

"Many law libraries are offering blogs these days," according to reference librarians Sarah Glassmeyer and Maureen Anderson. "They provide a quick and convenient way of disseminating information. Our research shows most blogs are related generally to legal research and information with a geographic concentration. We decided to take a different track. The University and the School of Law both emphasize service to the community and concern for the common good. Thus, the topic of social justice seemed like a natural fit. Besides, there already are several excellent blogs about Ohio law and very few that look at social justice, research and scholarship."

The blog has information regarding immigration, civil rights, debt, the environment, human rights, globalization, indigenous rights and labor and employment, among others.
