Group Honored at UN Conference

Model United Nations club named distinguished delegation at National Model United Nations Conference.

A team of eight University of Dayton students received recognition for outstanding achievements - a position paper and distinguished delegation award - during the recent National Model United Nations Conference in New York City.

Distinguished delegation designations go to the top 10 percent of delegations, according to UD model United Nations club advisor Nancy Martorano.

Team members include Andrea Smith-Rippeon, Kristin Wenske, Bobbi Dillon, Molly Phelan, Chris Pesce, Dan Berssenbreugge, Nate Poeschl and Josh Rauch.

The National Model United Nations Conference gives college students worldwide a better understanding of the United Nations' inner workings, and prepares them to become better global citizens and the next generation of international leaders.

The conference, which UD's club has attended for 30 years, has grown to more than 3,200 students and 220 faculty from five continents.
