A Focus on Asia

Korean artist Yu-Sun Kang will conduct workshops at ArtStreet Nov. 10-11.

Artist Yu-Sun Kang of Seoul, Korea, will visit the University of Dayton this month to demonstrate and teach her wool-felting technique.

A display of her work will also be on exhibit in the ArtStreet Café from Nov. 3 - 12. A reception for the artist will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7, in ArtStreet's Studio D Gallery.

Kang will conduct two workshops, from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10, and from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11. Both workshops will be held in ArtStreet Studio E. The workshops are open to the public, and participants can register for one or both sessions. Materials will be provided. The cost is $20 per workshop for the public, or $5 for UD students. Kang's visit is sponsored by ArtStreet and the Center for International Programs. The exhibit and workshops are part of this semester's "Focus on Asia: Cultural and Critical Issues" activities, which have included art exhibits, theatrical and musical performances, lectures and workshops.
