Campus Report Jan 10, 2007

An electron microscopist in the Nest Laboratory, entered a photograph of radiolaria.

Streiker, an electron microscopist in the Nest Laboratory, entered a photograph of radiolaria -- protozoa with delicate, silica body structures -- captured under the lab's high-resolution scanning electron microscope. He uses radiolaria when teaching others to use the microscope because of their beauty and delicate forms. They're also perfect subjects for a marriage of his passions for photography and imaging sciences.

Nominees were announced Dec. 10.
