The University of Dayton has awarded junior Amy Reaman, from Johnstown, Pa., with its John E. Riley Award. The $1,700 award goes to a junior who exercises leadership through involvement with student initiatives and exemplifies the educational and service values of the University.

"I find great joy in being involved in several areas of campus life," said Reaman, who listed 17 activities, in addition to being a residence advisor, on her nomination form.

Jim Elfers, a graduate assistant in UD's campus ministry office, said Reaman is a very respected student among her peers and any faculty with whom she comes in contact.

"She exudes leadership from her very being," Elfers said. "She is a strong, independent and caring individual who earns the respect of others by her hard work, enthusiasm and fun personality."

Reaman, a dietetics and women and gender studies major, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Reaman.
