Research Record

UDRI has set a new record for research volume, and UD has retained its position as the No. 1 Catholic university in sponsored engineering research and development and sponsored nonmedical research.

University of Dayton Research Institute has set a research volume record in the fiscal year ending June 30 — $85.2 million. And, in a new National Science Foundation report, UD remained the top Catholic university nationwide in sponsored engineering research and development and sponsored nonmedical research.

The NSF's report for fiscal year 2007, released this month, showed that UD had moved from No. 28 to No. 27 among all U.S. colleges and universities for sponsored engineering research and development. UD remained No. 2 among all U.S. colleges and universities for sponsored materials research and development.

UD moved from No. 14 to No. 13 among U.S. colleges and universities for federally sponsored engineering research and development and from No. 11 to No. 8 among U.S. colleges and universities for research and development sponsored by the Department of Defense.

Among Ohio colleges and universities, UD remains No. 2 for sponsored engineering research and development and No. 1 for sponsored materials research and development.

UD is No. 1 among Ohio colleges and universities for federally sponsored engineering research and development and No. 2 for sponsored nonmedical research and development.
