Mens Basketball Ranked

The Flyers are 25th in this week's Associated Press poll.

The University of Dayton Flyers are nationally ranked for the first time this season, earning the No. 25 spot in the Associated Press Top 25 poll.

Dayton has matched the program's best start through 26 games with a 23-3 overall record. The Flyers are tied for first in the Atlantic 10 at 9-2.

"This is great for the program and great for the conference," said head coach Brian Gregory. "But as we've done all year, we're focused on today's practice, which is the next time we'll be on the floor."

Dayton has an all-time record of 124-37 as a ranked team. Last season, the Flyers were ranked as high as 14th before injuries derailed the Flyers' promising 14-1 start.

This is the first time Dayton has been ranked in the month of February since the 2002-03 season.

After a week off, the Flyers travel to face the Saint Louis Billikens at 8 p.m. ET Saturday. Dayton leads the all-time series 23-18 and has won the last five meetings. On Jan. 29, the Flyers won a thrilling 47-46 victory at University of Dayton Arena behind 16 points from Chris Wright.

WHIO television and radio will broadcast Saturday's game. The Dayton Flyers athletics Web site will stream video and audio of the game. Fans also can follow the game on Gametracker through the Dayton Flyers Web site.

The Flyers' next home game is Feb. 28 versus Temple.  A limited number of tickets are available. Fans can purchase tickets online at Ticketmaster, by visiting the University of Dayton Arena ticket office or calling 937-229-4433. The ticket office is open 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. ET Monday through Friday and on weekends three hours before men's home basketball games.
