MFest: March 21

With an all-day outdoor music and art festival at ArtStreet amphitheater, a student group aims to raise awareness about the importance of mental health.

The UD student organization REACH is promoting mental health awareness with a day of live bands, art, food and fun at the ArtStreet amphitheater on Saturday, March 21. Faculty and staff and their families are welcome to attend.

MFest, named in memory of UD student Michael Littler, who committed suicide in 2003, is now in its seventh year. It's non-alcoholic and tobacco-free. Activities start at 1 p.m. and last into the late evening. Besides the live bands, highlights include arts and crafts, dogs from the Humane Society and a drum circle demonstration by the Music Therapy Club.

For information about REACH, see the organization's Web site. REACH works with campus ministry and the Counseling Center throughout the year and is funded by the Mike Littler Scholarship Fund for mental health.
