Family Fun

The University of Dayton will roll out the red carpet for families visiting campus for the annual Family Weekend Sept. 25-27.

The campus will be bustling this weekend. Nearly 500 families have registered to take part in Family Weekend Sept. 25-27, according to Cari Wallace, director of new student programs at the University of Dayton.

The most popular event?  Flyer football. About 900 will attend Saturday's 1 p.m. match-up between the Duquesne Dukes and the Dayton Flyers.

More than 800 — double last year's draw — will take part in a complimentary continental breakfast on Saturday.  Another 250 will attend the Celebration Dinner in the Kennedy Union Ballroom that evening.

There's something for everyone on the schedule.  Cornhole tournament. Zumba workshop. A free Boll Theatre production of "Eurydice." And workshops on everything from career opportunities to study-abroad experiences.  Families are invited to a 10 a.m. Family Weekend Mass in the Frericks Center on Sunday, Sept. 27. The weekend closes with a 2 p.m. University Chorale concert in the Immaculate Conception Chapel.
