We're All Flyers

Check out this video of the 2009-10 Flyers in action. Join in the tradition, the pride, the passion. We're all Flyers.

The University of Dayton Flyers are the team to beat in the Atlantic 10 this season, according to a poll of the conference's head men's basketball coaches and selected media. And Sporting News ranked the Flyers No. 23 in its preseason Top 50 college basketball poll.

"It's a great recognition, but it's not an accomplishment yet, and our guys understand that," Flyers Head Coach Brian Gregory said about the A-10 poll. "They need to go out there and prove themselves on the court. I know this community loves its Flyers, and last year, the 20 times we played at home, every one of those times they walked out feeling pretty good. I'd love for that to continue."

The Flyer Faithful got its first look at the 2009-10 University of Dayton men's basketball team Oct. 24 in the annual Red & Blue game.

The game tipped off what has become one of the most highly anticipated Flyers basketball seasons in recent memory. Four starters and 10 of the top 11 scorers are returning from last year's 27-8 team that advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Flyers will be back in action at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, as they take on the Ferris State Bulldogs in the first exhibition game of the year. Dayton will host a second exhibition game at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, against the Northern Kentucky Norse.

The Flyers will open the 2009-10 regular season at home against the Creighton Bluejays at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14.
