Two More H1N1 Vaccine Clinics This Week

The first, 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, in the RecPlex's MAC gym, is only for University of Dayton students 24 years old or younger. The second, 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at the University of Dayton Arena, is open to all targeted groups.

Two opportunities for H1N1 vaccinations are available this week at the University of Dayton.

The first, 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, in the RecPlex's MAC gym, is only for University of Dayton students 24 years old or younger. The second, 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at the University of Dayton Arena, is open to all targeted groups - pregnant women, persons who live with or provide care for infants under 6 months of age, health care and emergency medical services personnel, persons aged 6 months thru 24 years, and persons from 25 to 64 years old who have chronic medical conditions such as lung or heart disease, diabetes, or other immuno-compromised conditions that put them at higher risk for influenza-related complications.

Both are free and available while supplies last.

University of Dayton students who wish to receive the vaccine must bring their student IDs and wear clothing that allows the upper arm to be easily exposed. Those without a student ID will not be permitted to receive the vaccine. Students who receive the vaccine must complete a registration form. For more information about vaccinations for University of Dayton students, contact Edel Jesse at 937-229-3497.

The University expects to receive another supply of vaccines soon and will schedule another clinic for students after Thanksgiving.

Anyone wanting an H1N1 shot Thursday at the University of Dayton Arena must complete a consent form. Long lines are expected. The University of Dayton is not sponsoring this event. For more information on Thursday's clinic, call 937-225-5700 or visit the Public Health - Dayton & Montgomery County Web site.
