Chat With Roland Martin

Opportunities abound for reporters to chat with CNN analyst and author Roland Martin during Martin Luther King Jr. events in Dayton and on campus.

CNN analyst, nationally syndicated columnist and author Roland Martin will be available for media interviews at 5:45 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 18, in the third floor VIP lounge at the Dayton Convention Center.

Martin will deliver the keynote speech at two events Jan. 18-19 celebrating the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He will speak at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, at the Dayton Convention Center at the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Annual Holiday Celebration and Presidential Banquet. His appearance is a collaboration between the Dayton Chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and the University of Dayton.  Tickets are $60, with a limited number still available. He also will speak at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, at the University of Dayton's Kennedy Union Ballroom for the University's annual the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Prayer Breakfast. The event is sold out.

 Both appearances are part of the University's Diversity Lecture Series.

 Reporters also are invited to cover a question-and-answer session with Dayton Early College Academy students at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 19, in the special events space on the sixth floor of the College Park Center at the corner of Brown and Stewart streets.

Martin is a CNN political analyst and commentator for TV One Cable. In August 2007, he joined Essence Magazine as a special correspondent. In October 2008, he joined the Tom Joyner Morning Show as a senior analyst. TV One presents Martin's hourlong special, "Living the Dream: An Interview With President Barack Obama," at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 18.
