Celebrating Historic Seasons

The University will honor the women's basketball team's first NCAA tournament appearance and the men's basketball team's NIT championship April 9.

The University of Dayton will honor the men's and women's basketball teams for their historic seasons with a rally at 6 p.m. Friday, April 9, in the Frericks Center. It is free and open to the public.

Doors will open at 5 p.m. Parking is free.

Men's coach Brian Gregory and women's coach Jim Jabir will address the crowd. Former men's coach Don Donoher, who won two National Invitation Tournaments at Dayton, will make a special guest appearance.

The Flyers cheerleaders and pep band will perform and Flyers merchandise will be on sale.

The women's team advanced to the NCAA tournament for the first time in school history. In the first round, it overcame an 18-point deficit to beat Texas Christian University

The men's team won the NIT, its third in school history.
