Love at First Sight

A six-court complex is the new home of University of Dayton tennis and the University's first significant construction on former NCR Corp. land.

The University of Dayton has finished the first significant project built on land purchased from NCR Corp., a tennis complex that will become the new home for the University's men's and women's tennis teams and a recreation facility for students, faculty and staff.

"The complex will enhance the student-athlete and overall student experience at the University of Dayton," said Tim Wabler, vice president and director for athletics. "Our tennis programs now have a facility they can call their own and our University community has a first-rate venue to enjoy playing tennis."

The outdoor facility, located on Caldwell Street between Main and Brown streets, includes six regulation tennis courts, bleacher seating, rest rooms and changing facilities.

The complex was funded in part through a gift from a donor.

As part of the University's campus master plan, the new facility replaces tennis courts removed six years ago near Kennedy Union to make way for green space and the Central Mall project.
