Twice as Nice

The women's soccer team earned its second straight bid to the NCAA tournament by repeating as Atlantic 10 tournament champions.

The University of Dayton women’s soccer team will face Virginia Tech (10-9-1) in the opening round of the 2010 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship Friday, Nov. 12, at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium on the campus of The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.

The Flyers-Hokies match will follow the one between Ohio State and St. Francis (Pa.) scheduled for 5 p.m. The winners will return to play at a time to be determined Sunday, Nov. 14, at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.

Dayton (18-3) is in the tournament for the second straight year. This is the seventh trip overall for the Flyers.

The Flyers' first-round game with Virginia Tech will be a rematch of a second-round game from last year's NCAA tournament in Dayton, Ohio. Dayton lost 3-1 to Virginia Tech at Baujan Field.

Dayton earned its trip to the tournament by winning its second straight Atlantic 10 Conference tournament title. Virginia Tech is an at-large selection from the Atlantic Coast Conference.
