Lending a Hand to Train Workers

Sinclair Community College gives an honorary alumnus award to Larrell Walters for his contributions in establishing a center to train workers and assist employers in advanced manufacturing.

Larrell Walters, director of the University of Dayton-led Institute for the Development and Commercialization of Advanced Sensor Technology, received Sinclair Community College's 2010 David H. Ponitz Honorary Alumnus Award.

Sinclair gives the award to a non-Sinclair graduate who has made contributions to Sinclair Community College. Walters worked with Sinclair to help create Advanced Integrated Manufacturing (AIM) Center, a partnership between Sinclair and the University of Dayton designed to train workers and assist employers in advanced manufacturing.

University of Dayton engineering students also use the center for classes.
