A New R.I.S.E. Leader

A veteran in the financial industry has been named executive director of the University's R.I.S.E. XI Global Investment Forum.

The University of Dayton has named Larry Heller as executive director for R.I.S.E. XI, the world's largest student investment forum.

Heller, a veteran financial services industry executive, will work with School of Business Administration Dean Matthew Shank to expand partnerships in support of the forum, scheduled for March 31-April 2 at the University of Dayton Arena.

During his 30-year career, Heller has held leadership roles at firms including J.P. Morgan, Citigroup, Bessemer Trust and Bank of America. He also has worked in higher education as CFO and as an adjunct instructor at New York University.

R.I.S.E. (Redefining Investment Strategy Education) brings together international graduate and undergraduate students and professors to interact with some of the world's top financial experts, investment professionals and industry leaders. It's co-sponsored by the United Nations Global Compact, a voluntary corporate responsibility initiative.

"Larry comes to the University with special expertise in international corporate finance, investment management and strategic planning," said Shank. "He has an extensive network of contacts in the world of finance that will help us extend the reach of R.I.S.E. and take it to the next level."

Heller, of New York, earned an MBA in finance and organizational behavior from Yale University and a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Kansas.
