For All the Marbles

For the first time, the women's basketball team will play in the Atlantic 10 Conference tournament championship game.

The University of Dayton women's basketball team will face archrival Xavier at 5 p.m. tonight on ESPN2 in the championship game of the Atlantic 10 Conference tournament.

It's the first time the Flyers have advanced to the championship game.

The winner receives an automatic berth to the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship.

Dayton (21-10) is No. 6 seed in the A-10 tournament. It is tied as the lowest seed to ever advance to the A-10 final. St. Joseph's advanced to the championship game as the sixth seed in 1991. Xavier (27-2) is the top seed in the tournament.

Dayton has already faced nationally ranked Xavier twice this season. The Musketeers escaped with a pair of four-point victories in both meetings; 63-59 on Jan. 9 at the Cintas Center and 70-66 in overtime at University of Dayton Arena on Feb. 5.
