Developing Leaders

Marshall Goldsmith, on the Thinkers50 list of the world's top 50 business leaders, headlines the list of speakers for the 2012 leadership programs.

Marshall Goldsmith, corporate America's preeminent executive coach, best-selling author and No. 7 on the Thinkers50 "definitive listing of the world's top 50 business leaders," headlines the list of speakers for the University of Dayton's 2012 leadership programs.

Goldsmith will present "Creating Leaders at All Levels" and "Leadership Strategies for Developing Yourself" on Oct. 23.

"The Thinkers50 is perhaps the most highly regarded list of business thought leaders in the world. Four of the current top eight on the list have previously taught at the center," said Lisa Beutel, director of the University of Dayton Center for Leadership and Executive Development (CLED). "The Thinkers50 'On the Guru Radar' list includes five more who have taught at the center.

"We are fortunate to be able to attract such prominent thought leaders as leadership resources for our campus and the Dayton community."

Goldsmith's presentation is part of the executive program that starts Feb. 1. Other presenters include: Matthew Kelly, author of Off Balance: Getting Beyond the Work-Life Balance Myth to Personal & Professional Satisfaction; Beverly Kaye, presenter of "Love 'Em or Lose 'Em: Engaging and Retaining Your Best Talent;" Michael Burchell and Jennifer Robin, presenters of "The Great Workplace: Key Strategies to Creating a Great Place to Work;" and Steve Farber presenter of "Leadership Without Limits" and "Greater Than Yourself."

The cost to attend a one-day executive program is $995 for the general public, $945 for University of Dayton alumni and $870 for CLED partners.

Successful supervisor and professional programs start Jan. 10. Sessions include: "Communication Skills for Leaders," Going from Peer to Supervisor," "Navigating Difficult Conversations," "Team Building," and "Leadership is Everyone's Business."

The cost for the successful supervisor and professional programs is $395 for each session for the general public, $345 for University of Dayton alumni and $290 for CLED partners.

This is the second year both programs presented by the University of Dayton Center for Leadership and Executive Development are open to the general public.

Program topics are based on the critical business and leadership needs identified annually by executives in the Dayton region and include employee engagement, developing high potential leaders, creating passionate organizations and strategic innovation, among others.

All sessions will be at the 1700 South Patterson Building, formerly the NCR Corp. world headquarters. For a complete schedule, list of speakers and session topics or to register, call 937-229-3115 or visit the related link.
