A Soaring Finale
Music faculty and students and the world-class Dayton Contemporary Dance Company capped the grand opening of the University's China Institute.
It was a soaring finale to a day of celebration.
A dedication concert featuring University of Dayton music faculty and students and members of the world-class Dayton Contemporary Dance Company capped the grand opening of the University of Dayton China Institute in Suzhou Industrial Park on Aug. 8.
"This is not just a great cultural exchange. This is a great celebration of our partnership with the University of Dayton," said Ro Nita Hawes-Saunders, executive director the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, artists-in-residence on campus.
The 90-minute concert in Dushu Lake Theater drew nearly 400 people despite torrential rains from a typhoon that hit the east coast of China earlier in the day.
