Faculty Maternity Leave

This Family Maternity Leave Policy applies to full-time, tenured or tenure-track faculty. A recent change in the policy added full-time, non-tenure-track faculty who have completed at least two years of consecutive full-time service and whose full-time service is expected by the University to continue. The intention of this policy is to act in the best interest of the faculty member, department, and students when the leave must be taken during a teaching semester by providing for leave beyond the documented medical needs of the faculty member. Frequently, a maternity leave is taken for the full teaching semester with the approval of a modified duties agreement.
