The University of Dayton Music Therapy Club serves the greater Dayton community by providing music enrichment activities for underserved and marginalized individuals and groups. Membership in Music Therapy Club is open to anyone who is passionate about music or who is interested in learning more about the profession of music therapy.

Our meetings are held on Mondays from 8:00 – 8:50 pm in College Park Center, Room 440. At these meetings, we discuss upcoming service and advocacy opportunities, fundraising, and social events. Occasionally, we host guest speakers who present on topics related to the profession of music therapy.

Thursday Night Live Performances!

The mission of Music Therapy Club is to educate about and advocate for music therapy on campus and in the community, provide meaningful service through music enrichment for those in need, and assist its members through education, fundraising, and personal and financial support.

We advocate for the use of music for improved physical, mental, and spiritual health both on campus and in the Dayton community. We provide meaningful service at sites such as Dayton Children's Hospital, We Care Arts, and Widow's Home of Dayton. Weekly Club meetings include enriching educational activities, such as presentations by certified music therapists, other health and mental health care professionals, and students. We also offer opportunities for group discussions, music-making, and social and recreational gatherings, such as potluck dinners. The Club provides personal support of its members through a mentoring program and financial support for conference and workshop attendance, as funds allow.

Additionally, our award-winning service club is a student chapter of the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA), our national professional organization. Active student members of AMTA enjoy both national and regional membership benefits, including reduced music therapy conference rates and access to AMTA publications and podcasts.
