Don't Cancel Your Class

Don't Cancel Your Class!

Attending a conference?  Not feeling well?  Need to cancel a class?  Let us teach for you!

Advance notice or day of, give us a call!

Don't cancel your class!  Whether you plan on canceling in advance, or something comes up the day of, invite an educator into your classroom instead.  We offer presentations on a variety of topics including sexual violence prevention, leadership, wellness, and LGBTQ+ support services.  We value our collaboration with faculty across campus.  Please let us know how we can best support your work and students.

The Sexual Violence Prevention Education Office has many different presentations that address violence prevention, including gender socialization, neurobiology of trauma, supporting survivors, hook up culture and perpetration patterns, rape culture, healthy relationships, and Green Dot (bystander intervention).  We are happy to personalize the presentation to your course content.  We all have the power and responsibility to do something to stop power based personal violence, including sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and stalking at UD.  Help us improve our campus culture!

Student Leadership Programs offers a session that will assist students in developing the qualities of leadership that are essential for organizational, career, and personal success.  During the session, students will connect their goals and values to the class curriculum which enables students to reflect upon their leadership development and to integrate their learning inside and outside of the classroom.

LGBTQ+ Support Services offers several sessions that explore the experiences of LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning/Queer) identifying people, particularly at the University of Dayton. As a Catholic and Marianist institution, UD believes strongly in supporting all members of our community, including our LGBTQ+ members.  Being LGBTQ+ or an Ally and being Catholic are not mutually exclusive identities.  Presentations introduce LGBTQ+ identities and concepts through the lens of Catholic and Marianist teaching, and can focus on sexual orientation, gender identity, and/or allyship.

The Center for Alcohol and Other Drugs Resources and Education (CADRE) offers a variety of prevention presentations that provide students with current and beneficial information about substance use. We empower students to make well-informed decisions about alcohol and other drug use through our presentations and programs.

Community Wellness Services is committed to promoting lifelong wellness and educating the campus community on the seven dimensions of wellness.  We offer interactive educational sessions on a variety of topics, including an overview of the seven dimensions of wellness, nutrition, stress management, sleep, physical activity, and digital citizenship.  We are also happy to work with you to design a session reflective of your needs.

The Dean of Students Office is the primary advocate for students and creates comprehensive co-curricular opportunities to educate the whole person.  Presentations include topics such as mid-college crisis and reporting concerning behavior in your peers. but with advance notice, additional topics can be created with class interest or course syllabus.

Career Services offers workshops on the topics of choosing a major, career decision-making, vocational discernment, resume and cover letter writing, working on campus, interviewing, the job search process, salary negotiation, networking, and LinkedIn profile construction.  Career Services is also willing to work with you to customize a workshop to meet your needs and those of your students.  We appreciate your help in supporting the career-related goals of Flyers from admission until retirement.

Will you help us?
