Founders Hall

Founders Hall is a 4-story, first-year, building located in the heart of campus.  With wide hallways, smaller rooms, and a group of 400 first-year students, Founders residents place a high value on living in community. Rooms are mostly doubles and hallways often become the spaces for informal study and social gatherings. Founders’ horseshoe shape makes it easy to learn your way around the building and ensure many rooms overlook the central courtyard. The campus’ central green and Kennedy Union are just outside the north doors of the building so Founders residents are always near the hustle and bustle of campus and near most academic buildings.
 
Founders’ residents are supported 24-7 by a team of dedicated Housing & Residence Life staff. Each floor section has a Resident Assistant, an upperclassman that lives on the floor and serves as a resource for the students within that section. The desk is staffed 24-7 by undergraduate Desk Assistants and a full-time professional Operations Assistant. Finally, a fulltime, masters-level professional, Area Coordinator, also lives in the building.

Room Amenities

Rooms are carpeted and include a Micro-Fridge (combination microwave and refrigerator unit) and built-in storage shelving. Each student is provided with:

•Extra long twin bed (80”) –lofting and adjustable – can be lowered or raised to student’s preference (up to about 5” high) [students can request a side (rollout rail) if desired]
•Study Table with Lap Drawer and Desk Chair
•Pedestal ‘cart’ with Drawer and Cabinet (with Extendable Writing Surface)
•3 Drawer Dresser (with Extendable Writing Surface)
•Closet with Standard Rod, Shelf, and a High Storage Nook
