Financial Obligations

Financial requirements are an important consideration for students interested in participating in the values-based fraternity and sorority community. Each fraternity and sorority is self-supporting from dues paid by its members. Dues and fees vary for each chapter and from year to year. The expenses involved in being a member include: local chapter semester dues, inter/national dues, insurance, social dues, house/parlor fees (where applicable for some organizations), and other fees. During the first year of membership, the expense is usually greater than future years of active membership, due to the one-time only new member fees, initiation, and pin/badge fees that are incurred during this period.  Each local chapter at UD is pleased to work with new members and active members on a variety of payment plan options, so that financial obligations are not a limiting factor to pursuing or continuing active membership.
