Camp Expectations & Participation Agreement

The Camp Blue Agreement lists the expectations of all campers

As a Camp Blue Participant...

I understand I am representing not only myself, but also the University of Dayton.

I understand I will be held responsible for my actions while attending Camp Blue. 

I understand I must travel via the rental vehicles to and from all activities while attending Camp Blue.

I understand that regardless of my age, the consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited. 

I understand use of recreational drugs is strictly prohibited. 

I understand that harassment or sexual misconduct will not be tolerated and that I should bring any such behavior to the attention of the Camp Staff.

I agree to report any injury or illness to Camp staff immediately. 

I understand the my full and active participation in all camp events and activities is expected. 

I understand that my attendance at all camp events and activities is required unless otherwise approved by Camp Director.

I understand that my participation in the UleaD Mini Course, Fall Leadership Conference, and Service Saturdays is a required part of my camp experience.

I fully understand that by breaking any of the rules stated above I will be referred to the Community Standards and Civility for disciplinary proceedings. 

**In order to attend camp, all campers must read and sign the participation agreement along with the other camp release forms.  All forms can be accessed here.

Camp Guidelines

Student ID (Flyer Card):

  • Campers must submit their photo by the deadline listed in the confirmation email in order for their ID to be ready at time of camp check in. Failure to complete this step will affect student's ability to enter their assigned residence hall during camp.

Cabin Assignments: 

  • At YMCA Camp Ernst, campers will be required to sleep in the cabin in which they are assigned. Cabins are single-gender. No campers of opposite gender will be allowed past the porch of each cabin.

Cell Phones: 

  • Cell phones may only be used at designated times and in the event of an emergency. Camp Staff reserves the right to ask you to end your phone call if not in compliance. Students are encouraged to spend their time investing in new friendships, rather than on their cell phones.  

Tobacco Products: 

  • Considering the health risk to all participants, tobacco products are only permitted in designated areas on campus of the University of Dayton. Tobacco products are NOT permitted at YMCA Camp Ernst.

Commitment to Community (C2C): 

  • Respect your fellow campers, Camp Blue Counselors, New Student Programs Leadership Team and anyone you encounter during your time as a participant of Camp Blue. Inappropriate language, racial slurs, derogatory comments, or actions will not be tolerated. 

Nametags: 

  • Make sure you wear your nametag at all times from check in on August 13 through the end of camp on August 17, it is your meal ticket at both the University of Dayton and YMCA Camp Ernst! You will not eat without it!
