Merging Minds

This PATH eligible program gathers students to discuss topics related to alcohol and other drugs. This month at Merging Minds we will be discussing recovery. No prior knowledge on the topic is required, staff from the Center for Alcohol and Other Drugs Resources and Education will facilitate the discussion. (Event limited to 20 participants).

The Intensive English Program (IEP) offers a drop in conversation groups on alternating Wednesday and Friday afternoons. World Exchanges are designed to assist IEP students in practicing their English conversation skills, while also offering U.S. students a chance to practice their intercultural communication skills.  Each day will offer a variety of both open and structured conversation opportunities. World Exchanges will be offered only during week’s 2-5 of the IEP terms.

Checking the Pulse: Discussion & Vigil

Join us in marking the two years since the Pulse Nightclub shooting, in which most of the victims were members of the LGBTQ+ Latinx community. Members of the University of Dayton community come together again to process our thoughts, explore the continued impact of this event, and remember those affected. The discussion will start at 6:30 p.m. in KU 312, and then we will move together at 7:30 p.m. to Humanities Plaza to honor the victims with a candlelight vigil.

Suicide Prevention Week Film Screening and Discussion

Paddle at Old River Park
4:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. Departs from the Outdoor Engagement Center, 438 Stonemill Road.

Paddle a kayak or canoe around the one mile, scenic Old River Park lagoon. Participants can expect basic instruction on paddle sport safety and a leisurely paddle in a beautiful outdoor space. Transportation, boats, paddling equipment are provided. Please bring a water bottle, dress for the weather, and be prepared to get wet! Preregister at the RecPlex Welcome Desk to reserve your choice kayak or canoe. Transportation is provided from the Outdoor Engagement Center, 438 Stonemill Road.

You have the power to end violence at UD.  Green Dot training is a high energy and interactive afternoon that focuses on your ability to make our campus safer. As a group, we consider the warning signs to stalking, intimate partner violence, and sexual assault, the obstacles we must overcome in order to stop potential violence in front of us, and we practice stopping violence in the moment in order to add more green dots to our campus map. We all want to do what we can to keep our friends safe – Green Dot training provides an opportunity to practice and perfect those skills. Please consider joining us! Join UDLateNight for this week's new release movie: Won't You Be My Neighbor. This documentary paints a portrait of the life and work of children's entertainer Fred Rogers, star of “Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.” A former minister, Mister Rogers creatively communicated themes of empathy and acceptance (Swank Motion Pictures, 2018).
