This is an opportunity for students (primarily Protestant) to gather for worship and praise, prayer and a sermon. Students do not have to be Protestant, nor do they have to be Christian. Students may also participate in the services as readers, auditioning for the Praise Team or in other sacred artistic expressions. Interested students should contact Rev. NPHC: Meet the Greeks

Come explore the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) fraternities and sororities at the University of Dayton. Attending our Meet the Greeks session will allow you to learn more about our historically Black Greek-Lettered Organizations (BLGOs), our NPHC community, how to express interest in joining an NPHC organization, the process of joining and eligibility requirements, and have the opportunity to get your questions answered.

Dr. Camosy, a Theology Professor at Fordham, will help us to kick off a year of campus dialogue on the topic of abortion and the rights of women.

Join Campus Recreation for an outdoor, nighttime yoga class for Choose Well, Live Well Day. Glow bracelets will be provided for the first 100 participants! This yoga class is for all levels and includes warm-up, breath work, standing poses, flow, and relaxation. Please bring your own yoga mat or beach towel.

Breaking Bread Registration Opens

Do you like to eat? Want to try new international flavors? Breaking Bread brings together Flyers of different cultures to meet, share conversations, and learn from each other over delicious home-cooked meals. Each Breaking Bread group meets for a series of three dinners, featuring both traditional American dishes and international cuisine. At least one dinner will be hosted in a Student Neighborhood house.

World Exchange Wednesdays

The Intensive English Program (IEP) offers a drop in conversation groups on alternating Wednesday and Friday afternoons. World Exchanges are designed to assist IEP students in practicing their English conversation skills, while also offering U.S. students a chance to practice their intercultural communication skills. Each day will offer a variety of both open and structured conversation opportunities. World Exchanges will be offered only during week’s 2-5 of the IEP terms.

Checking the Pulse: Discussion & Vigil

More than a year has passed since a gunman opened fire at Pulse, an LGBTQ+ nightclub in Orlando, Florida, leaving 49 dead and more than 50 injured. In honor of those who suffered as a result of this tragedy, members of the University of Dayton community will come together again to process our thoughts, explore the ongoing impact of this event, and remember those affected. The discussion will start at 7:00 p.m. in KU 310, and then we will move together at 8:00 p.m. to Humanities Plaza to honor the victims with a candlelight vigil.

Perspectives on Faith and Life Series

Perspectives on Faith and Life is a discussion series that generates meaningful discussion between students like you and the faculty who work on campus. Topics vary between diverse religious, academic and social subjects and faith perspectives. Led by faculty or staff speakers, each session includes speaker time and small group table discussions over a catered meal.Through this informal yet impactful experience, you can participate in conversation that educates you, stretches your comfort zone and gives you a chance to share individual ideas and beliefs in a comfortable environment. It’s a place for you to get to know the University’s faculty a little better, and in a whole new light.

Explore the Outdoor Adventure Capital of the Midwest

Endless opportunities for boating, hiking, and biking in scenic metroparks and on the nations largest paved trail system are just a few reasons why Dayton is the Adventure Capital of the Midwest. Join Five Rivers MetroParks and Campus Recreation to hear the Dayton, Ohio story of how outdoor recreation amenities and places to connect with nature create strong healthy communities and learn how you can get active in the outdoors. Participants will receive recommendations and resources for paddling, hiking, biking and getting active outside and leave with a plan to embark on their own outdoor adventure.

Thursday Night Live (TNL)

Thursday Night Live is a weekly showcase of musical talent featuring UD student musicians, held at ArtStreet Café from 8-10 pm. In addition to music, TNL also hosts Spoken Word Nights, where poets, rappers and storytellers can come and share their work. Since its inception in 2006, Thursday Night Live has offered hundreds of students the opportunity to share their talents with the campus community.
