How to read and reply to messages

If your instructor has installed the Messages tool in his or her Isidore site, it should be listed in the blue menubar on your left.  You can view messages that have been sent to you by clicking on the "Received" folder link after you select the "Messages" tool.  To read a message, click on the subject of the message.

Once you've read the message, you can choose to "reply" or "reply to all".  Then type your response in the "Message" text box, scroll down to the bottom of the screen, and click on the "Send" button.  The message that you sent will appear in the "Sent" folder in the Isidore Messages tool.

    How to send a message

If your instructor has installed the Messages tool in his or her Isidore site, it should be listed in the blue menubar on your left.  You can send a message by clicking on the "Compose Message" button after you select the "Messages" tool.  You need to select the recipient(s) in the "To:" box.  You can select more than one recipient by holding down the'Ctrl' key on your keyboard and selecting multiple names.  You can send a message to your instructor(s), teaching assistant(s), or other students.

By default, the message will be set to go to the recipients' UD Gmail accounts, but you uncheck the box if you wish.  Now enter a subject for your message and type your message into the "Message" box.  Once you've finished typing, scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click on the "Send" button.  The message that you sent will appear in the "Sent" folder in the Isidore Messages tool.
