IT Equipment Services

University IT Directors and affiliated IT staff are encouraged to request reallocated computer hardware from UDit as needed. In addition to redistributing useful items to university departments, UDit coordinates donation of surplus items to local non-profit organizations.

IT Workstation Upgrade Packages

In an effort to extend the life of UD owned workstations, save University funds and increase IT sustainability on campus, UD’s IT Service Center offers upgrade packages for HP desktops and laptops.  While not all machines can be upgraded, our IT Services team is happy to provide an in depth consultation to see what options may be available and what fees may apply.

IT Equipment Removal

IT Equipment tagged by UDit will be disposed of at no cost. Untagged network printers, towers, monitors, televisions, typewriters or laptops and faculty/staff personal IT equipment will be disposed of for a fee (see "Equipment Removal Fee" below).

To request pickup of departmental equipment, call the UDit Service Center. Deliver any personal IT equipment designated for disposal to the UDit Service Center in Anderson Center 028. All equipment must be accompanied by an Equipment Removal Form (see below).

All IT equipment recycling is done in accordance with current EPA standards and includes a secure erasure of all storage devices consistent with the highest Department of Defense Standards.

IT Equipment Relocation Policy & Fee Schedule

All IT equipment (including laptops, towers, monitors, and local/network printers) qualifies for an IT equipment move per the fee schedule outlined below. Mice, keyboards, speakers, cables, and scanners are eligible to be moved as well, but only if they are part of the workstation being moved. Fees may be associated with equipment relocation.  See the form below (Requesting IT  Equipment Relocation) for more information, fee structure, and requesting an equipment relocation.
