Research Statistics Fiscal Year 2017

The University of Dayton performed $135.9 million in sponsored research in fiscal year 2017.

88 percent of this research was performed at UDRI, and 12 percent was performed in academic departments on campus at UD.

89.1 percent of research revenue is from federal sources such as the Department of Defense, Department of Energy, Environmental Protection Agency, NASA, etc. 10.9 percent of research revenue is from state and local governments, business and industry, other universities, and foundations.

89 faculty members and 271 graduate and undergrad students were engaged in sponsored research.

UDRI currently employs 550 full-time and part-time, benefits-eligible professional researchers, technicians and administrative staff; 193 are located in offices/labs at WPAFB.
