"Women of UD" Kickoff

Monday, March 5, 11:30–12pm, Heritage Coffeehouse

Join us as we officially unveil the 2018 "Women of UD" display as part of our Women's History Month celebration. The inaugural exhibit highlights the contributions women have made at the University of Dayton community and beyond, both past and present. In collaboration with our community partners, the exhibit features 15 trailblazing women who have made a significant impact on the university.

International Women's Day- Global Sisterhood Reception

Thursday, March 8, 3–4:30pm, KU Torch Lounge

Celebrate International Women’s Day with our new Global Sisterhood Reception. Come honor the ways women at University of Dayton have contributed to our global community, in sisterhood and connection. Refreshments and h’orderves will be provided.

The Future of Feminism

Monday, March 12, 10-11am, KU West Ballroom

A panel consisting of senior Women's and Gender Studies (WGS) students will discuss their experiences in the program and where they see WGS headed. Whether you are a student, or a member of the faculty or staff, come and hear about the impact WGS has had on students' thinking and living. Ask questions, offer ideas! Let's have a great discussion about the future of the program and the future of feminism!

National Catholic Sisters Week Reception

Women's and Gender Studies & the Women's Center Anniversary Celebration

The Women's and Gender Studies Program is celebrating 40 years and the Women's Center is celebrating 15 years at the University of Dayton. A joint dinner will commemorate this occasion. This event is invite-only.

Ohio Diversity Council's "Women in Leadership" Symposium

Wednesday, March 14, 8- 11:30am, KU Torch Lounge

This event features local women business and education leaders sharing their experiences and pathways to leadership, as well as challenges. Dr. Amy Anderson, Associate Provost for Global and Intercultural Affairs and Executive Director of the Center for International Programs, will serve on the panel alongside women leaders in the community. There are free tickets that can be reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please secure your spot here.

Status of Women at UD

Thursday, March 22, 12-1:30pm, KU Ballroom

Join us for our 2018 Women's History Month keynote event! We will explore the status of women at the University of Dayton from a panel featuring UD women with various backgrounds and roles who will speak authentically about their individual experiences and observations. 

This distinguished panel will be moderated by Laura Bistrek (Director, Diversity in Engineering Center) and will feature Ione Damasco (Associate Professor and Coordinator of Cataloging, Roesch Library), Kathleen Henderson (Director of College Access, Success and Transition- Enrollment Management), Dr. Rochonda Nenonene (Assistant Dean/Clinical Faculty- School of Education and Health Sciences Department of Teacher Education, First Year Experience Coordinator, and Program Director of the Urban Teacher Academy), Lisa Rismiller (Associate Secretary of the Board of Trustees), and Christina Smith (Director, Housing and Residence Life).
