Mentoring relationships have been identified as one of the most important factors in career success. Good mentoring relationships provide support to future leaders in many ways and can enhance the career success for both people involved. This Mentoring Toolkit provides resources to allow individuals, departments, and units to utilize and adapt according to their varying needs. Cultivated from a variety of institution-based resources and other sources, this toolkit represents best practices and foundational resources in support of mentoring faculty and staff across the life of the university.

The Higher Education Resource Services Institute (HERS) is a nationally recognized leadership workshop to elevate women in higher education.The Women’s Center along with the Office of the Provost coordinates the recruitment, application, and nomination process of faculty and staff interested in attending the HERS Institute.

ACE Women's Network Ohio
ACE Women's Network-Ohio champions the professional advancement of university women across the state of Ohio. Their mission is to improve the status of women on college campuses and throughout higher education. The organization hosts an annual conference that provides networking opportunities as well as workshops for personal and professional development.

Salary Negotiation Workshops
Negotiating salaries and benefits is a challenge for individuals at all stages of their careers. We facilitate Start Smart Workshops designed for students about to enter the job market students to learn strategies and skills to negotiate their starting salaries. We also provide an online Work Smart module for those already in the workforce to learn ways to negotiate for a new job, raise, or promotion.

Women in Leadership Development (WILD) Program
The WILD Program is meant to be a space for women who are interested in pursuing leadership opportunities in higher education. As a way to create space for these opportunities, the Women’s Center has created the Women in Leadership Development (WILD) program for graduate and full-time faculty and staff who are interested in pursuing leadership opportunities in higher education.
*This space is not exclusive to women, but is open to anyone who has experienced similar types of marginalization's.
Women of Color Collective
The Women of Color Collective was piloted during the 2021-2022 academic year on Flyer Connection last academic year and after assessing the effectiveness, the opportunity has been re-branded. The re-branded Women of Color Collective is a space for women of color (faculty and staff) to come together and engage in leadership opportunities through a mentorship foundation. Each year the class of participants will engage in meaningful connections through monthly gatherings as a group and in mentor/mentee pairs. The current class is full; however, be on the look out for more information for the 2024-2025 class!
