Bio

Sean joined UD in October 2023 as the Assistant Vice President for Institutional Equity and 504 Coordinator.  He provides strategic leadership in the development, implementation and monitoring of the Equity Compliance Office programs and supervises the work and professional development of the team that conducts, oversees and tracks independent investigations of complaints and reports submitted to the office. Additionally, Sean helps design, develop and deliver educational programming and recommend solutions for issue resolution.

Sean has over 28 years of experience in higher education administration, including religiously affiliated institutions. In the 11 years prior to coming to UD, he served as the director of anti-discrimination compliance, director of disability services, assistant director for risk management, and Title IX coordinator at Duquesne University. Sean’s professional career includes serving as an Assistant Dean at Princeton University and a full cross section of administrative responsibilities at Georgetown University, The University of Chicago, and The Catholic University of America.

Sean received his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Broadcast Journalism from Pennsylvania State University and Masters of Education (M.Ed.) in Higher Education Administration from Loyola University Chicago. 

Sean identifies with UD's Catholic and Marianist mission as it truly resonates with his own personal values. He believes that his professional career and previous experience have specifically prepared him for this profound responsibility at UD.
