Empty chairs

Empty chairs

Have you ever wondered what goes on in your home when you're not there? Well, our campus is quiet and surreal. There is no bustle of students racing from class to class or the sound of pages turning as they cram for their exams. There is still a faint echo of laughter and muffled conversations from the workers who still maintain the campus while the students return home.

I still remember my first job on a college campus where I worked over the breaks. I was about to graduate from Sinclair and nostalgia rushed over me as I passed my favorite hideaways and cubbies. Memories danced through the halls. The stage where I gave my first public speech was empty. My favorite place to hang out with my friends was quiet. My desk where I worked in my office was all but empty.

It is always a sad feeling to leave a place you've called your home for the semester. But trust us, it is in good hands and will be waiting for you when you return.

Have a wonderful and safe summer! We look forward to seeing you again in the fall!
