Alumni stand and hold up UD Magazine.

Class of 1985 alumnae Diane Wallace Rioux, Patty Trojan Hasson, Lori Vanderboom Porter, Barb Busam Kelly, Sue Benedict Potts, Maureen Menke Schaffer, Karen Rashid Balow, Beth Morgan Wright, Debbie Speigel, Molly Fitzgerald and Christina Crisafuli Bedard hit the beach in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, to celebrate their 60th birthdays. All agreed, UD Magazine was the best beach read of the trip.

2308_wayr_incopy2.jpg2  – Wayne Hogrefe ’72 and his wife, Fatima, traveled to North Cape, Norway, in January in search of the Aurora borealis, but also took some time to enjoy UD Magazine.

 

 

 

Alumni stand and hold UD Magazine.3 –  Carol Jones ’76 and her husband, Jeff, took their UD Magazine on a cruise in December where they enjoyed leisurley reading on several islands including Costa Maya, Mexico.

 

 

 

Alumni stand and hold UD Magazine.4  – What better place to celebrate your 65th birthday than the sunny U.S. Virgin Islands in January? Mark Spina ’80 and his wife of 35 years, Lynne, along with their daughter and son-in-law spent two weeks enjoying sun, sand, sailing and island rums. Mark said, “It’s almost like an old guy Dayton-to-Daytona!”

 

 

Alumni stand and hold UD Magazine.5  – Morrie Doyle ’60 and his wife, Ann, celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in Cuba in April. They write that their honeymoon was supposed to be in Havana back in 1962, but they had to change plans when the U.S. government ceased travel there. 

 

 

Alumni stand and hold UD Magazine.6  – After waiting more than two years for Japan to lift its pandemic shutdown, Margaret Hoile Thomas ’73, and her husband, Robert, were able to visit their daughter Jennifer Thomas Bullock ’00 and family at Yokota Air Base in Tokyo in November. 

 

 

 

Alumni stand and hold UD Magazine.7  – Vicki Knipper Hughes ’74 and Philip Hughes ’72 made a stop in Ushuaia, Argentina,  on a four-month cruise around the world. During their stop, Vicki posed with UD Magazine and made friends with one of Ushuaia’s Magellanic penguins.

 

 

 

Alumni stand and hold UD Magazine.8  – Wayne Kelly ’74 spent the entire month of April in the Alentejo region of Portugal, driving all over Portugal and Spain. He stopped to pose in front of a prehistoric monolithic burial site with his copy of UD Magazine.

 

 

 

Alumni stand and hold UD Magazine.9  – Robert Staker ’67 and Carolyn Kleinhenz Staker ’80 went on a frigid trip to Antarctica in February. They said the penguins they encountered really enjoyed reading UD Magazine.
