What these arms hold

What these arms hold

Erin Holscher Almazan January 18, 2024

My work is driven by my experience as a female-identifying artist and various roles I inhabit. I am interested in complexities and dualities that exist within our identities and relationships we have with ourselves and others; that we are complex and multidimensional, capable of good and bad, built from light and dark, and molded by nature, nurture, influence and self-awareness. My recent work is a depiction of my role as a mother and reflecting on the fleeting moments with my children and how I’ve changed and the world has changed as they have gotten older. I seek to capture the heartbreaking beauty of these experiences.
