Grants are a form of gift assistance — financial aid that does not have to be repaid. Generally, grants are awarded based on financial need, cost of education and enrollment status. There are several sources for grants, including federal, state and University programs. Unless noted, the amounts listed are for the 2009-10 academic year.

Academic Competitiveness Grant
If you are a full-time student, a U.S. citizen and eligible for the Pell Grant, you may be eligible for the Academic Competitiveness Grant. Apply by completing the FAFSA.
Pell Grant
The Pell Grant is based on financial need, and eligibility is determined annually. Awards range from $609 to $5,350 per year. Apply by completing the FAFSA.
Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant
The Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant is based on financial need, and eligibility is determined annually. Awards range from $200 to $2,140 per year. Apply by completing the FAFSA.
Veteran Benefits
If you enlisted in the military as Active Duty or Selected Reserve status, or if your parent is/was a military veteran, you may qualify for veteran benefits.
