Chiseled into the Jesse Philips Humanities Center is a Flannery O'Connor quote: "Mystery isn't something that is gradually evaporating; it grows along with knowledge." At the University of Dayton, our philosophy focuses on searching for intriguing conclusions to those intricate questions of life.

Within the College of Arts and Sciences, you'll be encouraged to engage the world and explore questions that do not have easy answers. Work with faculty members to conduct research and publish it in scientific journals. Conduct independent research on international elections. Run unique psychological experiments. Write a pop culture column for Flyer News, the University's student newspaper. Watch international films at the Language Learning Center. Compose a symphony or create original artwork as a student artist-in-residence. Launch environmental stewardship projects.

Through opportunities like these, you'll learn to think rationally and critically, preparing you to adapt — and succeed — in our ever-changing world.
