Careers in Psychology

Psychology is a diverse field with many career paths. Though there are many specialties, what all psychologists have in common is a shared interest in mind and behavior, both human and animal. The field of psychology draws on an ever-expanding body of scientific knowledge about how humans think, act, and feel. Research enables us to learn fundamental things about behavior. With the professional practice of psychology, that knowledge is applied in helping to solve problems. In each of the subfields of psychology, there are individuals who work primarily as researchers, others who work primarily as practitioners, and many who do both.
