Street Sounds Recording Studio
Street Sounds Recording Studio, a student organization at the University of Dayton, is a fully functional recording studio. Run and managed by students of UD, Street Sounds combines the features of a professional studio with the education of recording workshop. With a large inventory of recording equipment and software, plus experienced engineers and producers, the studio can provide a number of services to artists of all platforms. We offer a hands-on recording experience where artist and studio work together, using well established recording techniques while allowing time for creative experimentation. This blend of learning and professionalism provides clients with a platform to create and record rich, high-quality recordings, while giving our members a chance to learn the ropes by working through the process.
Street Sounds is located in the ArtStreet complex in the center of UD's south student neighborhood. The studio features one large recording room, an editing room and a smaller room for dedicated vocal recording. The space is large enough to track a full 5-piece band, but intimate enough to do solo vocal tracks and acoustic recordings. The organization prides itself on its versatility, and has recorded string quartets, jazz ensembles, rock bands, and hip-hop groups. There is no project too big or too small for Street Sounds, too normal or "unique" — the more challenging, the better.
Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information about recording services. Please be patient with us, since we are full-time students and work in the studio on a volunteer basis.
Information for Student Members
Street Sounds is a student organization at the University of Dayton and is open to all UD students. All new members who want card access to the studio must complete two service events. A service event could include helping to run sound at one of the weekly Thursday Night Live events, helping with a project another member is working on in the studio, or by helping with one of many club events during the semester that will be announced by Street Sounds executive members . Once the service has been completed, the member must go through a short training session in the studio and pay the semester dues of $25. Card access will then be granted to that member.
For updates about Street Sounds, please email email@example.com and ask to be added to the club mailing list.
