Profile

Dr. Pedrotti joined the faculty of the physics department in 1987 after completing his Ph.D. at the University of New Mexico in 1986. He does research in the areas of quantum optics theory and laser physics. In 2007, he joined his father, Leno S. Pedrotti, and uncle, Frank L. Pedrotti, as an author of the third edition to the textbook, Introduction to Optics. Dr. Pedrotti has taught most of the courses in the undergraduate physics curriculum as well as several classes in the graduate electro-optics program.
