Welcome to the Environmental Health & Safety/Risk Management (EHS/RM) website. It is our goal to provide you with a valuable resource for all of your safety and risk management needs while acquainting you with the services we provide, including University policies, training schedules, programs and current events.

The overall goal of the University of Dayton’s (UD) Fire Safety Program is the protection of life and property at the UD. The Fire Safety Program at UD endeavors to identify and minimize those conditions and/or actions that may encourage fires to start and spread. Through training programs, University staff, faculty, and students are educated on fire safe practices.

On Monday, September 19, 2016, Two Seton Hall University fire survivors shared their story: “After the Fire” – The Movie & College Tour with University of Dayton students.  Alvaro Llanos and Shawn Simons were badly burned by a fire caused by arson which started in their dormitory in the early morning hours of January 19, 2000. This is a story of survival, perseverance and inspiration.
