Office of the Rector

The Rector's Office Responsibility

We focus on the development and presence of the Catholic and Marianist character of the University. Our goal is to make this character visible, fruitful, and pervasive in every facet of University community and life. The Rector's Council and the Marianist Educational Associates promote, support and live this mission on a daily basis.

Rector's Council

The Rector's Council is the first line of support to the Rector's role to ensure the continued presence of the Catholic and Marianist cultures of the University.  To achieve this goal, members of the Council ...

- seek every opportunity to saturate themselves with the history, the meaning, and the spirit of the Catholic and Marianist cultures.
- gather, organize, and interpret a set of identifying leadership characteristics for the UD community that will mark it as a comprehensive, Catholic, and Marianist University.
- design, implement, and evaluate programs and structures whose aim is to implant and foster the Catholic and Marianist cultures of the University.
- identify markers and measure the progress of the UD community in implementing the characteristics that mark it as a comprehensive, Catholic and Marianist University.
- continually monitor, promote and manage those community practices which are identified as incarnating the Catholic and Marianist cultures.
- serve as a conduit of information from the Rector to the University as a whole.
