Profile

In a span of more than three decades at UD, Dr. Jeff Griffin taught courses in intercultural communication, global communication, film, broadcasting and journalism. In addition to his regular teaching load, Jeff taught in the department’s study-abroad program 18 times, certainly a department record and likely a university record. In fact, Jeff directed the department’s study-abroad program for 15 years. Jeff’s scholarship was published in a wide array of academic journals, including Film International, English Today, Journal of Popular Film and Television, Journalism Quarterly, Gazette, Newspaper Research Journal and Visual Communication Quarterly.

“I was fortunate enough to have been mentored by some legendary communication educators, who helped shape me as a teacher and researcher, including Bob Stevenson (international communication), James Tankard (mass-communication research), Wayne Danielson (mass-communication research), Bill Korbus (visual design) and J.B. Colson (photojournalism).”
