Lynda Ashbery Dodd has spent her professional career as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney with the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office. Ms. Dodd joined the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office in 1997. She began her career handling cases relating to paternity and child support. She quickly moved to the appellate division where she handled felony appeals from low level felonies to homicide cases and had the opportunity to argue before the Ohio Supreme Court. Ms. Dodd then moved to the criminal division as a Criminal Docket Attorney, where she managed a criminal docket, handling felony cases of all levels and began a long career as a trial attorney.

In 2006, she was promoted to Supervisor of the Intake division, and promoted to Trial Supervisor in 2007. As a supervisor Ms. Dodd was able to train upcoming trial attorneys, as well as continuing to maintain a full trial calendar. In 2014 Ms. Dodd became a member of the Violent Crimes Bureau where in her caseload transitioned from all felonies to primarily handling homicide cases. As a homicide prosecutor she handles many high-profile cases often becoming involved in the early stages of an investigation, through charging decisions, through trial. In 2021 she was promoted to her current position as Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division. In this role she carries supervisory duties, as well as continuing to maintain a homicide case load.
