Profile

James G. Kordik has been a partner with Rogers & Greenberg LLP since 1995. Rogers & Greenberg LLP is a law firm serving the Miami Valley region since the 1870s. Mr. Kordik practices in the area of business law, real estate law, income tax planning and estate planning. Jim represents businesses of all types and sizes as well as their owners. Mr. Kordik is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Dayton Bar Association and is an Ohio State Bar Foundation Fellow, and is admitted to practice in the United States Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit and United States Tax Court. Recently, Mr. Kordik was lead counsel in a case before the Ohio Supreme Court representing a large local hospital and prevailed involving a dispute over a substantial amount of real estate taxes in the matter of Dialysis Ctrs. of Dayton, L.L.C. v. Testa, 150 Ohio St.3d 208, 2017-Ohio-4269. Mr. Kordik was also lead counsel in an important Ohio Supreme Court case creating precedent for Ohio farmers regarding CAUV status in Maralgate, L.L.C., Appellee, v. Greene County Board Of Revision et al., Appellants, 130 Ohio St.3d 316, 2011-Ohio-5448. Mr. Kordik has also been selected as a Super Lawyer and Best of the Dayton Bar and is AV rated with Martindale Hubbell. 

Mr. Kordik represents several large real estate operators and investors including a hedge fund that owns over 5,000 units and a multi-family operator that engages in the buying and selling of large apartment complexes. 

Mr. Kordik holds a Bachelor Degree of Science from Wright State University and a Juris Doctorate from University of Dayton School of Law. Mr. Kordik also passed the Ohio CPA exam and was a licensed CPA from 1987 until he recently retired that license after 30 years. He is also a member of the Wright State University Hall of Fame and Centerville Wrestling Alumni Association Hall of Fame. 

Mr. Kordik has worked with numerous charitable organizations in the Miami Valley and has been a Trustee for the Legal Aid Society of Dayton, is currently a Trustee and Treasurer for the Greater Dayton Volunteer Lawyer Project since 2000, is a volunteer for the Highland County Humane Society and regularly fosters rescued dogs. Mr. Kordik is also the Treasurer and legal counsel for Jim Jordan for Congress, District 4, Ohio. 

Jim and his wife, Kamela, reside in Oakwood, Ohio. They have three children, Channing Kordik, who is an associate attorney at Rogers & Greenberg, LLP, Jameson Kordik, who is a Montgomery County Deputy Sheriff, and Maria Kordik who is currently in school while serving as a home healthcare aid.
