Profile

Bill Kugel is currently a financial consultant for numerous government and private-sector organizations. In addition, he serves as a mentor and coach on a one-on-one basis for a number of clients. Prior to his current consulting work, he served in a variety of financial management positions during his 37-year Air Force civilian career for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

He started his career with the Air Force in 1979 as a contract negotiator and then moved to a position in financial management. During his financial management career, he has been a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on a $4.2 Billion aircraft development and production program, he was deputy comptroller for the 88th Air Base Wing, and he spent over 12 years as a cost estimator. He concluded his career by serving for 15 years as the Human Resource Director for the Financial Management Directorate and as the Director of Financial Operations at AFLCMC. At the conclusion of his career, his organization designated their Trainee of the Year award in his honor.

During his career he was awarded the Meritorious Civilian Service Medal, the Exemplary Civilian Service Medal, and the Outstanding Civilian Career Service Award. He is also the recipient of numerous Air Force Pentagon-level financial management awards.
