Profile
Erin Otis is a Magistrate in the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas, Domestic Relations Division. Erin has gained the majority of her practical experience in Family Law and spent fifteen years as a Senior Staff Attorney in the Litigation Department at Montgomery County’s Department of Job and Family Services. Erin also has past volunteer experience with Legal Aid of Western Ohio advocating for domestic violence victims.
Additionally, Erin offers academic support to students who are studying for the Bar by grading essays and MPTs with the Road to Bar Passage program. She has also acted as a volunteer judge for the Law and Leadership Institute’s Mock Trial Competition, and as a judge for the Dennis Turner Mock Trial Invitational. Erin was given the 2021 Peacekeeper Award by the Artemis Center, which recognizes individuals or organizations in our community that have made significant contributions to a coordinated community response to domestic violence.
Nothing is more important than a work/life balance and Erin enjoys traveling with her husband and their four children. Reading, writing, and visiting US National Parks are other interests. When not at work, home or out walking her dogs you may find her at the nearest coffee shop.
